Ariana Grande Opts For Floral

Ariana Grande Opts For Floral

Ariana sweetly opened her performance with “Baby I,” unaccompanied by music and sounding beautiful, hitting her high notes confidently. Her backup singers and dancers later joined her, spicing it up on the carpet with “The Way” in a sparkly purple mini-dress. She also tweeted an hour before her performance, saying “I want to dedicate a tweet to the photographers on the carpet at the VMAs, thank you for putting up with my nerves. I’m peeing my pants.”

The pre-show performer could easily be mistaken for a little girl who raided her mom’s make-up box but that is the look the 20-year-old seems to favor and, lets be honest, it kind of works for her. As for her date? There was no sign of new man Nathan Sykes by her side.

The 20-year-old singer took raunchy performances to a whole new cringe-worthy level at the MTV Video Music Awards today shocking fans with an explicit display of tongue-wagging, twerking and grinding.

Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards performance raised some eyebrows and didn't earn her a lot of praise.

She started out singing her We Can't Stop song, twerking and sticking out her tongue to match her bear unitard. At one point, MTV bleeped out the word "molly."

In the song, Miley sings, "So la da di da di/We like to party/Dancing with Molly." When it first came out, the song was under fire for its drug references, including "Molly," which is MDMA or Ecstasy.

But that wasn't a big deal. It was what came next.

She bombarded the stage with an army of Boo bears and booty dancers and ripped through a rendition of "We Can't Stop," which was triple-nominated for awards on Sunday night (August 25).
